STUDENT Organizations
Students who are bonafide members of Student Representative Coordinating Council (SRCC), of the Student Publications, and core officers of other student organizations may still opt to join other organizations provided they do not hold key positions.
1. STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COORDINATING COUNCIL (SRCC)
The Student Representative Coordinating Council (SRCC) as the supreme student organization of DLSZ promotes the welfare of the students and works for the proper coordination of student activities with the faculty and administration. It is handled by a teacher-adviser who serves as its moderator.
Specifically, the SRCC, according to the approved Constitution, aims to organize student activities such as the Vision-Mission Week celebration and projects that promote Lasallian Core Values namely Faith, Zeal for Service, Communion in Mission.
The SRCC plans and implements projects for the students following the Vision-Mission statement. The council is made up of the following sets of officers: the Execom (President, Executive Vice-President, Social Action Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, three (3) Level Representatives for Grade School and six (6) for High School, and the appointed officers (Programs and Planning Head and Assistant), Public Relations Officers (External and Internal), Media Consultants (Head and Assistant), Facilities Coordinator, Athletics Coordinator (for High School Only), Liaison Officer, Social Action Level Contacts (Three (3) for Grade School and six (6) for High School).
The Student Judiciary Board (SJB) serves as the judiciary arm of the council. It is an independent body consisting of the SJB Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and three (3) appointed Core Members, who ensures that rules and regulations are followed in the SRCC and checks on the officers if their respective duties are properly carried out.
2. STUDENT PUBLICATIONS OFFICE
Young Observer (YO)
The Young Observer is the official publication of the grade school students. Young Observer serves as a training ground for grade school students to hone their writing skills with utmost objectivity and creativity.
Counterpoint (CoPo)
The Counterpoint, on the other hand, is published by the high school students as their official school paper. Counterpoint aims to instill to its high school members the significance of responsible journalism through observance of professional journalistic etiquette and through promotion of excellence in journalistic writing.
Yearbook
The Yearbook is the annual publication that features the graduates and undergraduates of the school. The annual issue also includes photos of significant events and accomplishments for the academic year.
With the help of a moderator, the staff members learn the fundamentals of journalism with emphasis on newspaper ethics and responsible reporting, and apply these in the production of every issue.
Note: Students who are bona fide members of Student Representative Coordinating Council (SRCC) and the Student Publications may still opt to join other organizations provided they do not hold key positions in these organizations.
3. LASALYANONG PINOY
Lasalyanong Pinoy aims to live the Lasallian mission and teachings of the founder, St. John Baptist De La Salle through activities that underscore nationalism, patriotism and the Lasallian Core Values of Faith, Zeal for Service and Communion in Mission.
4. ZOOB MEDIA
ZOOB Media aims to form responsible media producers and consumers on campus. It recognizes the integral role of Media in the lives of young people, with the aim to blend Education with an informed Media consumer and producer.
5. Campus Ministry Office-Affiliated Organizations
Lasallian Youth Corps (LSYC)
Lasallian Youth Corps aims to create a community of young people who willingly respond to God's call in the “signs of the times” and to the concerns that beset society and by offering themselves to God in the service of others.
Search In (SI)
Search In offers weekend retreat program for young people to help them assess their relationships with their own selves, their peers, their families and God. The students go through group dynamic activities that help build openness and trust through reflection and prayer.
Youth for Christ (YFC)
Youth for Christ is a family ministry of Couples for Christ (CFC), a Catholic charismatic community and family life movement. It owes its existence, identity, mission and vision to CFC as it exists as a partner in evangelizing the young through the principles of faith, freedom, fun and friendship.
Mission Youth (MY)
Mission Youth is an organization for young Catholic men and women dedicated to carrying out regular evangelization activities or “missions” to both rural and urban communities in the country with the purpose of reenergizing the community’s Catholic identity and fostering greater parish involvement.
